The holidays bring opportunities to connect and celebrate special traditions and meaningful moments with the people in our lives. As you prepare for the upcoming holiday season, make plans to help keep your family, friends, and community safe during this special season.
In cooperation with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Triad CUSD#2 is hosting a SHIELD IL Holiday COVID-19 Screening event on Tuesday, December 21st from 3pm to 6:30pm and the following week on Thursday, December 30th from 3pm to 6:30pm. Instead of a nasal swab, the covidSHIELD test uses saliva and only takes a few minutes to collect a sample. The results are known within 24-48 hours and are made available through an online portal to each patient. To learn about the saliva-based SHIELD IL Test, click here.
IDPH recommends testing before attending functions with loved ones especially if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or work in a high-risk setting. To begin, scan the QR code on the flyer found at https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1752325/HolidayTestingEvent_Southern_CentralIL.pdf or visit https://shieldilportal.pointnclick.com/login_login.aspx and use the agency code "df5brbrj" when creating your portal account.

December 16, 2021
Triad Families,
The district has learned of another TikTok challenge that threatens the safety of schools across the United States tomorrow, December 17, 2021. This challenge is NOT specific to any Triad CUSD #2 school, our community, or region. It is a general post, circulating across the country.
We are aware of this TikTok challenge and Triad CUSD #2 is keeping in close contact with our partners in law enforcement, and will continue to monitor all threats to the safety and welfare of our students.
Again, there is no specific threat towards Triad schools. Even so, we will remain vigilant, continuing to investigate any rumors and/or threats that may arise. If anything develops, we will communicate with our families immediately.
Additionally, we need your help in speaking with your student about this TikTok challenge. Ask them not to repost any threatening posts and messages. Please remember, participation in social media threats, on or off school grounds, could result in school discipline and/or criminal charges.
Keeping our students safe requires all stakeholders (students, parents, community members, & schools) communicating and cooperating. As always, we encourage stakeholders to communicate with school administration and law enforcement if there is rumor of any suspicious threat to school safety. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We can only navigate these challenges when we all work together.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Leigh Lewis
Triad CUSD #2 Superintendent

We have a great opportunity for all Triad students. The FTA (Future Teachers of America) group at the high school is offering tutoring on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6:00-7:00 pm. There is no cost this year for tutoring.
If you are interested, please contact Rebecca Amen rebecca.amen@tcusd2.org or Rodney Winslow rodney.winslow@tcusd2.org to set up a time for your child.
