Dear Henning Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to inform you of a situation involving carbon monoxide detection at our school and to assure you that the issue has been thoroughly investigated and resolved.
Early this morning, our facility’s carbon monoxide monitoring system alerted staff to elevated levels in a specific area of the building near the boiler room. In accordance with our emergency safety protocols, building administrators immediately contacted the Troy Fire Department and Ameren Illinois to investigate the source.
Their investigation determined that the elevated carbon monoxide levels were related to an old water heater, which has since been shut off.
Comprehensive air quality testing was conducted throughout the entire building by Ameren Illinois and the Troy Fire Department. The testing confirmed that carbon monoxide levels are within safe limits, and both Ameren Illinois and the Troy Fire Department have cleared the building for students and staff to enter.
The health and safety of our students and staff remain our absolute highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and want to assure you that we are taking all necessary precautions to maintain a safe learning environment.
